As the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 kicks off in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Nature–WWF and Natureza Urbana are pleased to present a new report that positions ecotourism as a powerful tool for conservation and community-led development.
With forewords by H.E. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, and Laila Mostafa Abdullatif, Director General of Emirates Nature–WWF, the report highlights the role of ecotourism as a platform for inclusive growth and responsible environmental management. Together with outstanding local and international partners, we are contributing to a new paradigm of ecotourism in the United Arab Emirates — a model that can inspire similar actions globally.
The report showcases our work in Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain, includes case studies from Brazil and Malaysia, and provides a practical guide for designing nature-based, impact-driven, and community co-led experiences.
