Until recently, the 9-kilometer path of the Estrada Velha de Santos, that cuts through Serra do Mar State Park, could only be done on foot. Since June 2021, with the beginning of the concession project from São Paulo State government, visitors have had some amenities, such as a support van to return to the park entrance after doing the trail. Other improvements are planned for the coming months, such as kiosks and guided tours.
We, from Natureza Urbana, proposed an architectural project to optimize the concession proposal of this area, for private initiative purposes. We seek to encourage ecotourism, restore historic monuments and carry out maintenance in the park’s public use areas. The implementation of support services for visitors, food spaces, refurbishment of parking lots and gates, revitalization of trails and electrical and hydraulic interventions in existing buildings, are some of the main points proposed by us. The Caminhos do Mar Nucleus is located in Serra do Mar Park and has 274 hectares of Atlantic Forest and historical monuments dating back to the early twentieth century. It’s well worth the ride!
